Our cashback site ratings are calculated as an average of the ratings left by you, the people who use the cashback sites on a day-to-day basis.
For example if MyCashback.co.uk receives 2 reviews, one rated as 5 stars and the other rated as 2 stars, then our overall site rating will be automatically calculated as 3.5. That's 5 stars + 2 stars = a total of 7 stars, which is then divided by the total number of reviews - 2, to get 3.5 stars.
We will calculate a site's overall rating the instant the first review is received, in other words we don't currently require a minimum number of reviews to be added before we calculate the overall rating (unlike for site rankings, see below).
Site rankings are based on the overall site ratings, quite simply, the site with the highest rating will be ranked no.1. In order not to artificially skew the rankings, a site will only receive a ranking when it has received a minimum of 5 reviews. Sites that have the same overall rating will be ordered according to the number of reviews, so a site that has a rating of 3.5 from 10 reviews, will be ranked higher than a site that has an identical rating from 7 reviews.
You can order sites by both their rating and rank on our review listings page. You can also order sites by rating and rank on any of our cashback offer search results pages (here's an example).
