There is now an updated version of the Cashback Guardian for Firefox users, version 0.1.9 now includes the ability to tell it to stop letting you know about cashback offers for certain websites. For example if you always get told about offers when you visit your online banking site, or Yahoo and you'd rather not, simply click the 'Ignore Site Offers'* button and you shall see them no more. Mozilla have also finally removed the experimental status from the Cashback Guardian, which means it should now work with the automatic update notifications in Firefox. If you've not upgraded yet, or you've yet to try Cashback Guardian why not check it out here, don't forget to add a review if you find the add-on useful and be sure to let your friends know. *Please note, this feature is not yet available for the Internet Explore version of Cashback Guardian.

eCashrewards is no more, it has been relaunched as cashbacking which is being run by the same people. Adminttedly this is old news as ecashrewards actually closed the site on the 31st January 2009, but better late than never! Here's the message that is posted on the eCashRewards website: "After more than three very successful years we have re-launched with a new and improved Cashback site, Cashbacking.co.uk!
This means that eCashRewards IS NOT accepting any new registrations and only remains open for current members to claim any Cashback in their accounts before this website closes on 31st January 2009.
Please visit www.Cashbacking.co.uk to register for FREE and be one of the first to receive the FREE £5 Sign-up Bonus!
See you there!
Cashbacking Team. More information is available at our Cashback Blog."

Just Cashback have 'just' announced they are closing their site, blaming it on an increase in fraudulent activity. They have placed a notice on their website and emailed all members with the following information: Just Cashback Closure NoticeDue to continued and increasing fraudulent activity by a minority of Just Cashback users it is with regret that we announce the closure of Just Cashback on 31 March 2009. If you have an outstanding balance you may claim your money (including the bonus we gave you when you signed up providing your account balance is greater than £20.00 or you have previously made a withdrawal) by logging into your account and requesting a new payment. We have removed the £20.00 limit so you can enter the exact amount you wish to withdraw. Pending rewards will be processed as usual. Any balances that remain on your account after 30 April 2009 will be cancelled without further notice. If you require any assistance during this period please do not hesitate to contact us via the contact form. We would like to thank everyone who has used our service sensibly over the past 18 months. Regards,
The Just Cashback Team

It's been a while since our last update to Cashback Guide, we've all been busy with Christmas and some of us with new babies (suddenly cashback at Mothercare and Toys R Us has become MUCH more important!). Anyhow, this month we've added 4 new cashback site reviews (you know you needed some more right?!). Making their debut on the Guide this month are: Diamond Cashback FreeCashback.co.uk Cashbacking (not to be confused with Cashback Kings) RewardedPurchase.com We're not suggesting all of these sites are new (RewardedPurchase and FreeCashback for example have been around for a little while I believe), but they are new to our site. How do they keep on coming up with these names? Our personal favourite...Bread Cashback surely it's only a matter of time before we get Cash Cashback! In other news, RewardCircle has now been renamed and rebranded as Reward Fox, your old RewardCircle account will still work on the new site so fear not. I'll probably be making these updates monthly from now on, unless something earth shattering happens in the world of cashback. Until then...

It seems like the national newspapers have woken up to the concept of cashback shopping. The Sun and the News of The World, plus The Daily Mirror and it's Scottish sister paper The Daily Record all now have their very own cashback sites. The Sun and the News of The World are both white label sites powered by GreasyPalm, whilst The Mirror and The Record are identical sites powered by eDealsUK (now owned by V.A.C Media). You can find all of these sites reviewed right here on Cashback Guide.
