The number of retailers the cashback site has links to. The more retailers the site has, the wider the range of offers.

Does the site offer any form of points or cash bonus when you sign up? If so, how much? Most sites will offer some form of sing-up bonus, some are more generous than others.

Is there any other type of incentive available for signing up? Some sites offer extra cash for providing extra information during sign up.

Does the site charge you an annual admin fee? This is not common but a few will, we’ll tell you how much it is.

What percentage of the money does the cashback site pass on to you for each transaction? Most will not pass 100% on to you, and those that do will normally charge an Admin fee instead.

What do you collect on the site? Cash is the most common, but on some sites you accumulate points which can be converted to cash. Less common are reward only sites.

All cashback sites are subject to the conditions of the retailers in terms of how long it will take to confirm your purchase. But after that period, each site varies considerably in how long they take to pass the cash on to you, we tell you how each site does it.

What payment methods does the site offer you to get the cash into your bank account?

Most cashback sites will only pay you once you have accumulated a certain amount of cash or points in your account, we tell you how much it is.

In addition to receiving cashback for retailer purchases, most sites will offer alternative ways to collect cash or points. This can range from performing searches on certain shopping sites to entering competitions and completing surveys to writing reviews. Many cashback sites have a referral scheme, whereby you can refer your friends to the site and if they sign up you will receive compensation in the form of cash or points. Sometimes the friend just needs to register for you to be rewarded, and other times they need to earn a certain amount of cashback themselves before the site will reward you. The best deals are when you earn a percentage of your friend's cashback for life. We tell you if the site has a referral scheme and if so what the deal is.

Some cashback sites use the engine or template of another cashback site and simply re-brand it in in their own image. These are called white label sites, and we aim to tell you which site engine they are using. This can be significant because sometimes they will also share databases which means the offers will be the same between the two sites and if you are member of one site, you will also be a member of the other, meaning you cannot create a new account with the white label site.

Some cashback sites will provide an option to donate some or all of your cashback to charity, whilst others may donate a percentage of their profits to charity. We'll tell you what charity options, if any, the site has.
